BACKGROUND

Professional Journey

I'm a healthcare and pharmacy expert with experience spanning clinical practice, policy, and NHS leadership.

My career has included policy work at Cabinet Office, innovation adoption and spread at NHS England, and operational leadership as NHS Deputy General Manager in Specialist Care (until August 2025). I am currently engaged in advisory and innovation work across the healthcare sector, advising companies on AI product strategy and commercial development.

I combine frontline clinical experience with strategic policy expertise and systems-level thinking.

I'm currently focused on healthcare innovation, policy development, and thought leadership through writing, speaking, and advisory work. I'm also running for the Royal College of Pharmacy's English Pharmacy Advisory Council to help shape our profession's future.

PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP

Driving Change in Pharmacy

Pharmacy plays an underrated role in healthcare. Community pharmacists are increasingly saving the day in primary care through schemes like Pharmacy First, while responsibly managing the second largest cost in any healthcare system - medicines. But pharmacy's potential is being undermined by complex policies and a disconnect between strategy and the frontline.

There is an alternative future, but it requires fresh thinking, people with new ideas, untainted by the decisions of the last 30 years. I work with healthcare organizations and pharmacy leaders to bridge this gap, bringing expertise that spans both the profession itself and the detailed wiring of the healthcare system.

Since qualifying in 2017, I've worked across community pharmacy, policymaking and innovation at NHS England and Cabinet Office, and operational leadership in NHS trusts. I also undertake research on AI and pharmacy. I provide advisory services on healthcare innovation, AI governance, and pharmacy transformation, bringing that rare experience and understanding of how healthcare works across different levels, grounded in pharmacy knowledge.

My areas of focus reflect the challenges I've seen firsthand: digital technologies entering healthcare at speed without adequate professional leadership, the role of pharmacy in neighbourhood and preventative healthcare models, and supporting workforce transformation. The future of pharmacy is ours to shape, and I partner with organizations ready to transform pharmacy practice.
